Cut Your Advertisement Budget with Cheap Vinyl Banners
When I was starting my company I made the mistake of buying an expensive neon-light sign for my store. I thought that it would attract customers to my pet food store. No it did not. It looked like a cheap striptease bar with it’s flashy lights. Then I discovered the electric bill. Those thing really need their own nuclear station to run. I don’t know how they do it in Vegas, well I guess they have the money. Another problem is that the lights don’t last very long, and they are all hand-made. So you can’t really pick up a spare one from the local hardware store, you need to order one. It can take anything from two weeks to up two months. In the mean time your sign says “PET FO D S ORE”.
A couple of years ago a storm to took down most of the neon sign, so I thought the hell with it. Time to get an easier replacement. So I got a plastic banner with a couple fluorescent tubes running behind it. That was the works, or so I thought again. Sure the electric bill was a little smaller and you could buy the tubes from the hardware store. It was just difficult changing the tubes. I needed to rent a scissor lift and take off take the banner to get to the lights. Okay, you can live with that. But a year ago I noticed that the banner was getting a little dark and greenish from all the pollution from the cars running by. I tried to clean it, but it just would not come off.
Time to look for another solution. I started thinking why do I need a sign that has lights in it? It’s not like pet owners are driving around at night looking for a 24/7 pet food store. Then I had the idea of cheap vinyl banners. I wish I had thought of that in the first place, it would have saved me a lot of money. Now if the vinyl banner gets torn or dirty I just throw it away. Not a big deal as I buy them in bulk, so I get a discount. Now I can also easily change the banner to advertise when I have a sale. I can recommend cheap vinyl banners to everyone starting their own business.
